We built TuneClub, a phygital music learning app that bridges digital practice and live performance. Founded by Gabe Moynagh (Irish fiddle player, former cybersecurity CEO), the platform combines structured learning pathways with submission-based review, creator operations tools, and Mux-powered adaptive streaming - delivered in 12 weeks after a prior agency failed at UX.

The Challenge
The founder's vision combined the best of MasterClass (structured learning), Patreon (creator community), Scoolinary (hands-on approach), and YouTube (curated content) - but a previous agency had failed to deliver the UX, and Gabe came to 1Raft specifically for streaming media expertise.
The core loop - practice, submit a recording, receive creator review, perform at a linked event - required tight integration between media tools, learning progression, and creator workflows that no off-the-shelf platform could handle.
Audio and video streaming needed to work reliably with speed/pitch adjustment tools and low battery impact, while supporting multiple user roles (Learner, Creator, Admin) with distinct permissions and workflows.
What We Built
Integrated Mux for adaptive streaming, automatic thumbnail generation, and captioning, with a unified media API abstraction layer that simplified the frontend and kept audio-first experiences lightweight on device battery.
Built structured learning pathways with linked live events, where learners progress through milestone-based content, record submissions for creator review, and receive feedback before performing at real-world sessions - closing the practice-to-performance loop.
Developed creator operations tools including content approval workflows, customizable feedback questions, publishing rules, team role management, and an activity log - giving creators full control over their courses without needing engineering support.
Set early guardrails with the founder (online-only, single-device sync, audio-first pitch) to keep scope tight and ship within 12 weeks, with clear boundaries for post-launch expansion.
