Track IPOs and make informed investment decisions
Retail investors miss IPO opportunities because information is scattered across broker apps, news sites, and WhatsApp groups. InvestIQ consolidates everything - upcoming IPOs, subscription status, GMP, financials, and listing performance - in one clean mobile experience.

IPOs tracked
When an IPO opens in India, retail investors scramble to find reliable information. Subscription status is on the registrar's site. GMP is on obscure forums. Company financials are in the DRHP (a 400-page PDF). Broker apps show some data but not all. Investors make decisions based on incomplete information or WhatsApp tips.
Cost of inaction
Retail investors applying to IPOs without proper research face two risks: missing good IPOs because they didn't hear about them in time, and investing in bad IPOs because they relied on hype instead of fundamentals. Both cost real money.
We mapped the IPO investor's workflow from discovery to listing day. The critical moments are: learning about an upcoming IPO, researching fundamentals, tracking subscription levels during the open period, and monitoring grey market premium for listing-day sentiment.
InvestIQ aggregates data from multiple public sources - SEBI filings, registrar websites, exchange announcements, and market data feeds - into a unified timeline for each IPO. Push notifications alert users at each critical moment.
The design philosophy was radical simplicity. Investors check IPO status 10-15 times during the 3-day open period. The app had to surface the most important number (subscription ratio) instantly, with details one tap deeper.
Key insight
IPO investors don't need a trading platform - they need an intelligence layer. All the data exists publicly, but no one aggregates it into a single, clean experience optimized for the IPO decision workflow: discover → research → apply → track → exit.

User rating
Retention
Organic growth driven by IPO season spikes and word-of-mouth in investor communities.
Consistently high ratings on Google Play driven by data accuracy and clean interface.
Monthly active user retention during IPO-active periods - users return whenever new IPOs are announced.
Aggregation over integration
Indian IPO data doesn't come from a single API. We built scrapers for 6+ sources and a reconciliation layer that validates data across sources before displaying.
Notification-first mobile experience
IPO windows are 3 days. Missing a notification means missing the IPO. We designed around push notifications as the primary engagement surface.
Offline data caching
Investors check subscription status frequently. Caching the last-known state locally means instant load times even on poor connections.
Interviewed 30+ retail investors to understand their IPO research process, data sources, and pain points. Mapped the discover-to-exit journey.
Built scrapers for SEBI, registrars, exchange sites, and GMP sources. Created a reconciliation layer that validates and normalizes data across sources.
Built the React Native app with IPO timeline, detail views, watchlist, notifications, and analytics. Focused on instant load times and one-tap access to key metrics.
Added IPO analysis content, historical performance data, and community features to increase retention between IPO seasons.
Seasonal products need retention hooks
IPO activity is cyclical. Without educational content and historical data, users disappear between seasons. We added analysis features to maintain engagement year-round.
Data accuracy builds trust fast
In finance, one wrong number destroys credibility. We invested in multi-source validation - if two sources disagree, we flag the discrepancy instead of guessing.
Push notification timing matters
IPO subscription closes at a specific time. Sending the notification 2 hours before close (with current subscription data) drives the most engagement and provides the most value.
Growth strategy
App Store Optimization targeting IPO-related keywords during IPO season peaks. Community seeding in investor Telegram and WhatsApp groups. The product's value is self-evident during active IPO periods - users download when they need it.
Currently Android only via Google Play. An iOS version is on the roadmap based on user demand.
