12 weeks to launch, 10K users in 6 months, 4.2/5 on Product Hunt.

We built IntroJoy, a web app that simplifies professional introductions through a double opt-in workflow - both parties agree before being connected, with automated emails, customizable templates, and centralized tracking. The platform launched in 12 weeks, reached 10K users in six months, and earned a 4.2/5 rating on Product Hunt.

The Challenge

What we were up against

Professional introductions required lengthy email chains - the introducer manually coordinated between both parties, often across multiple time zones and inboxes, turning a simple connection into days of back-and-forth.

Introducers had no control over the flow once they hit send. Without opt-in mechanics, recipients were surprised by unsolicited introductions, leading to awkward situations and damaged professional relationships.

The founders initially explored a Chrome extension but discovered mobile browser limitations made it impractical for the target audience - professionals who manage introductions on the go needed a responsive web app, not a desktop-only extension.

Tracking introduction outcomes was impossible. Introducers had no visibility into whether connections were made, meetings were scheduled, or relationships progressed - making it difficult to justify the time invested in making introductions.

Frequently asked questions about this project

Double opt-in means both parties in an introduction must agree to be connected before any contact information is shared. The introducer sends a request to each person separately, each reviews the context and accepts or declines, and only after both accept does the platform send the connecting email. This prevents unwanted introductions and protects professional relationships.
